Washinton, DC March 31, 2006 Congressman Jon Porter (R-NV) and John Tierney(D- MA) began circulating yesterday their Dear Colleague letter to House Members for signatures (see link below), requesting that the Appropriators restore funding for WIA and the Employment Service to FY 05 levels. This is the same funding level in the Cantwell/Collins Appropriations Dear Colleague circulating in the Senate.

We requested Congressmen Porter and Tierney circulate this Dear Colleague and are very pleased that the Congressmen have chosen to take this leadership role for the workforce system. We now need to assist them by asking our Members of the House to sign on to the Porter/Tierney Dear Colleague, restoring funding cuts to WIA and ES. We only have one week to secure signatures, as Appropriators have made April 7th the deadline for the receipt of Dear Colleague letters. Please call your House Member today!
