  • Promote a business climate to attract and retain businesses
  • Be visible in, and informative to, the business community
  • Promote and engage businesses for sustainability and growth
  • Expand training programs regionally to meet business needs

Action Plan 2002
Focus on Strategic Goal 4

  • Ensure business customers are satisfied with results of the workforce preparation system and workers have the skills to be competitive in the global economy.
  • Expand ways in which the workforce development system assesses business needs
  • Enhance the workforce development system’s capacity for responsiveness to a rapidly changing marketplace
  • Align one-stop system services and products with current business requirements and needs
  • Strengthen connections with economic development and business-as-customer.

Action Plan 2001
Promote integration of the Workforce Development System through:

  • WorkSource and WorkFirst integration, and the Council's co-location initiatives.
    (Supports Strategic Goals 1, 2, 5)
  • Develop Business Services , including a single point of contact system, and the Centers as the place to go for all businesses.
    (Supports Strategic Goals 1-4)
  • Support each partner in overcoming its specific agency challenges towards fostering integration.
    (Supports Strategic Goals 1, 5)
