Washington’s Workforce Training & Education Coordinating Board

Youth Council 2003 Institute

Northwest Workforce Development Council members, alternates and Youth Council members are invited to attend the Youth Council 2003 All Stars Institute, on September 25 and 26, 2003 in Kennewick, WA, hosted by the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board.

This learning exchange will bring together local, state and national youth workforce experts in a fun and interactive format!

Agenda Items Include:

  • How to Build Win/Win Business-Education Partnerships
  • Innovations to Accommodate Youth With Disabilities
  • Linking Career Guidance to Career Pathways
  • Preparing Youth for Careers in Health Care
  • Service Integration--Working Together to Serve All Youth
  • Youth Council Business Representatives Forum

Nationally-recognized youth leaders will be at the Institute To keynote and facilitate this event:

The Institute begins Thursday, September 25th, 8:30 am.

The Keynote Speaker will be Edward DeJesus, of the Youth Development and Research Fund, and an Institute pre-assessment will be presented by David Brown, of the National Youth Employment Coalition.

Washington State Attorney General Christine Gregoire will address Institute attendees at a breakfast on Friday, September 26th.

There will be a closing Youth Council recognition lunch from 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm.

Registration
Registrations and accommodations arrangements will be handled by Northwest Workforce Development Council staff.  Click on the ‘contact us’ link on this website’s home page to indicate your interest in attending.  WDC staff will take care of the arrangements and contact you to confirm your registration and hotel reservations.  The NWDC will cover member’s costs associated with attending this conference.
